Toy Product Design is a MIT Public Service Center service finding out design course offered inside the Spring semester. This course, beforehand listed as SP.778, is an introduction to the product design course of with a consider designing for play and leisure.
On this course, faculty college students work in small teams of 5-6 members to design and prototype new toys. School college students work fastidiously with a neighborhood sponsor, an elementary faculty, and expert mentors on a themed toy design mission. School college students might be launched to the product enchancment course of, along with determining purchaser needs; brainstorming; estimation; sketching; sketch modeling; thought enchancment; design aesthetics; detailed design; prototyping; and written, seen, and oral communication.
